POP downloads a copy of your emails from your account (mail.aol.com) to the app. This means that if you delete an email from your account after it's been downloaded, the downloaded copy remains in the app. Additionally, POP only downloads emails from the Inbox (not personalized folders), so to download all of your emails, you'd need to move email from existing folders to the Inbox.
IMAP, however, continually syncs the app and your account to keep the information in both places identical. This means that anything you do with messages or folders in your account at mail.aol.com will also occur in the app (and vice versa).

Mark Emails as Spam
Select the email.

Open the Spam folder.

Check the box to the left of the email.
Click Ok on the top toolbar to move the message into your inbox. Future messages from this sender will be delivered to the inbox.
Unsubscribe From Sender
Select the email.

If you're given the option, click Unsubscribe and you will no longer receive messages from the mailing list. If you click the Mark as Spam icon, the message will be marked as spam and moved into the spam folder.
If you don't get a pop up to unsubscribe, don't worry! The emails will still be marked as spam and all future emails will go to the spam folder to be automatically deleted.

Update the Block Senders List
Take control of your inbox by keeping your spam list up to date.
Click the Block Senders tab.
In the box under "Block mail from addresses I specify," enter the email address you want blocked.

Alternatively, to remove the address, click the X icon next to the address you want removed.
Update Filter Settings
Create filters to make sure your incoming emails go where you want them to. Once you've created a filter, you'll be able to edit or delete it from the same screen.
